On July 11, Zhang Zhijun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor, met with Ambassador of Belarus to China Yury Senko and his entourage in Changchun. The two sides made an in-depth communication on further strengthening friendship and enhancing cooperation in economy & trade, science & technology and culture, among other fields.

During the meeting, Zhang Zhijun and Wang Zilian extended their welcome to Yury Senko and his entourage. Zhang Zhijun said that Changchun is located in the geometric center of Northeast Asia and acts as an important industrial base and granary of China. We attach great importance to the cooperation with Belarus, and witness fruitful results of two sides for years. At present, Changchun has thoroughly implemented the key instructions of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Jilin, fully implemented the deployment of the Provincial Party Congress and Municipal Party Congress, adopted the implementation of "city linkage in six areas" as an important means, accelerated the building of a modern urban circle revolving Changchun, thereby building it into an important window that China opens to the north and a regional cooperation center hub in Northeast Asia. It is hoped that under the framework of the consensus reached by the leaders of two countries, the two sides can share the "Belt and Road" opportunities, and further deepen exchanges and cooperation in science & technology, economy & trade, industry, agriculture, tourism and other fields, promote more practical results, so as to benefit the two peoples.

Yury Senko expressed his gratitude to CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Municipal Government for their hospitality and said through a few days of visit, Changchun had left him a good and deep impression. Belarus is one of the first countries to support the "Belt and Road" Initiative, he said, adding that bilateral exchanges have continued to expand and cooperation in various fields has developed rapidly. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in China will play a bridging role and hopes to expand cooperation with Changchun in international logistics trade, deep processing of agricultural products and other fields to achieve win-win development.
