The Shimao Mt. Lianhua Ski Resort, the first of its kind in Changchun City, was opened to its first batch of visitors on November 16, 2019. It marks that the skiing season 2019-2020 has been kick-started in Changchun City.  

The coach team wearing Pikachu garments staged a wonderful opening show for the visitors present at the ceremony. In the next half month, all slopes, cableways and terrain parks at the resort will be opened one after another as an effort to bring about more comprehensive experience and services for the visitors. In late November, such night activities as barbecue, firework show and cable car sightseeing are said to be organized. In addition, music and firework festivals as well as night skiing and other consumption service items will be created. Insider say the incentives of last ski season will be continued one of which is night skiing is free to all female visitors on every Wednesday.  

The Changchun Shimao Mt. Lianhua Ski Resort will also host the “2019-2020 International FIS Freestyle World Cup” in late December, which is one of the top-notch international single events to be held in China during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. It is also the international and Olympic point race for the players from all countries. During the competition, a newly built grandstand will be put in use for the fans to watch the top international skiing event.
