The main body of Changchun UP Optotech Co., Ltd. is CIOMP (Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics) Pilot Plant, Chinese Academy of Sciences founded in 1958. A series of "China's firsts" were born here, including China's first ruby laser, China's first optical glass, China's first high-precision theodolite, China's first large cinetheodolite and China's first electron microscope. On June 26, 2001, CIOMP, together with Guangdong Fenghua Advanced Technology (Holding) Co., Ltd. and other shareholders, established "Changchun UP Optotech Co., Ltd.", a modern high-tech enterprise. On January 15, 2010, the Company made its initial public offering of A shares and was successfully listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The Company's main business includes the R&D, production and sales of photoelectric measuring instruments and equipment, new medical testing instruments and optical materials; the leading products are: photoelectric theodolite optomechanical partial system, aviation/aerospace remote sensor optomechanical partial system, antenna pedestal, new medical testing instruments, K9 optical glass, etc.

After years of operation and development, the Company has formed a strong comprehensive advantage in photoelectric measurement, boasting a comprehensive technological realization capability of design, processing, assembly and testing for optical, mechanical and electronic integration. In the processing link, for example, the relevant areas involve the optical plane and spherical surface processing, optical coating, machining, special metal materials surface treatment, etc. The Company possesses nearly 2,000 sets of advanced optical machining and inspection equipment, including imported machining centers, with a total value of nearly RMB 300 million. With the joint debugging hall of more than 6,300 m2, collimators with aperture of 1 m, optical transfer testers, parallel light tube, optical transmission testers, centrescopes and a number of high-end optical adjustment equipments, it can install and adjust the large photoelectric equipments with a maximum aperture of 1.5 m. The comprehensive technical advantages of precision optics, machining of mechanical components and complete assembly of precision optical instruments are the most important reasons for the Company's dominant position in relevant fields.

The Company also boasts strong capability of technological innovation and R&D of new products, with an average of more than 10 patents and new technologies as well as 2-3 new products developed and released each year.

In recent years, the Company upholds the enterprise spirit of "customer first, focus on operation, building of trust, cooperation for win-win outcomes, pioneering and innovation, bias for action, courage to act, and industry for country". Forging ahead despite the wind and rain, the Company has become one of the important production and manufacturing bases in relevant fields in China. Through the implementation of comprehensive quality management, the Company has established a systematic quality management system covering the whole process of product development, product pilot testing, supplier management, raw material inspection, production process control, finished products supervision and inspection and after-sales service, and it has passed the ISO9001 international quality management system certification, with the products following the ISO9001 international standard. It has been awarded as National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, National Enterprise Technology Center, National SRDI (specialized, differential, refined and innovational) "Small Giant" Enterprise, National Intellectual Property Rights Superior Enterprise, Jilin Provincial Key Laboratory, Jilin Provincial Large Enterprise (Group) Entrepreneurship and Innovation Platform and other titles.
