HARRIER, a new model of FAW Toyota, went off product line at the Changchun FAW Fengyue Auto Co. Ltd. on November 17, 2021. Government officials at provincial and municipal levels including Wu Jingping, Zhang Zhijun and Wang Zilian as well as Qiu Xiandong, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of FAW Group, leaders of FAW Toyota and representatives of upstream and downstream partners attended the ceremony. 

The launch of HARRIER, another new appealing SUV, marks that FAW Toyota has made a substantive breakthrough in speeding up the productivity and launch of new products. It is expected to add new, strong power to the city’s effort of creating a world-class international automobile city and continuing to optimize and reinforce the automobile industry of Jilin Province. 

“Entrusted by Jing Junhai, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, and Han Jun, Governor of Jilin Province, and on behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Jilin Province, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to FAW Toyota, and express my sincere thanks to the people from all walks of life who have been supporting the development of automobile industry of Jilin Province. All involved in the province are supporting FAW to become a world-class enterprise and Changchun to a world-class automobile city. It is hoped that FAW Toyota will seize development opportunities, expand market shares, and work more on layout planning, project construction and product innovation so as to step up to a new stage of development. We will continue to support government-enterprise cooperation and enterprises to hold together for development, create a first-class business environment, strengthen industrial, supporting, service and factor supports to help make enterprises better and stronger and thus achieve new, high-quality development,” Wu Jingping, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Executive Deputy Governor of Jilin Province, said in his speech.  

“The rapid development of automobile market in China has created opportunities of the times under which FAW and Toyota shall move forward hand in hand, follow the grand trend of subversive industrial transformation, strive to explore and renovate new contents, new models and new ways of strategic cooperation, lead FAW Toyota to accelerate high-efficiency transformation and growth, and jointly create a benchmark and role model for the economic and trade cooperation and cooperation in automobile industry between China and Japan,” said Qiu Xiandong. 

The general manager of FAW Toyota Co., Ltd., and president of Toyota (China) Investment Co., Ltd., congratulated the launch of HARRIER by video. 

A promo introducing the highlights of HARRIER was presented at the ceremony during which other activities including car launch startup, production and sale delivery and quality declaration were also held. 

Competent department leaders at provincial level such as Wang Haiying and Zhao Xinrui, and officials of departments and auto industry development zone of the city as well as the representatives of suppliers, dealers of FAW and FAW Toyota attended the activities.
