The People’s Government of Jilin Province and China Automotive Technology & Research Center Co. Ltd. signed a framework agreement on establishing the Northeast Asian Automotive Research Institute in Changchun on March 31, 2021. Jing Junhai, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, and An Tiecheng, Secretary of Party Committee, President and General Manager of China Automotive Technology & Research Center Co., Ltd. jointly witnessed the signing of the agreement and joined the unveiling ceremony for the founding of the institute. 

“China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. has technically strong, influential strength, with positive contributions made over the past years to the transformation and development of the automobile industry of Jilin Province. The province is now thoroughly implementing the important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection trip to Jilin, calling upon all involved to work hard to create Changchun into the world’s first-class international automobile city, support FAW to development into a world-class automotive enterprise, explore resource endowments, focus on tackling key breakthroughs, and strive to create a new era of all-round, comprehensive revitalization. It is hoped that the two sides will work together to build the institute, accelerate the integration of independent technological innovations, find out solutions to a number of “bottleneck” problems as soon as possible, realize mutual promotion of innovation, talent and industrial chains, and promote the construction of new urban infrastructure with new achievements in electrification, intellectualization, networking and sharing of automotive industry, further optimize the ecosystem of modern, new-type automobile and auto parts industries and thus add power and efficiency to the high-quality development of Jilin Province,” said Jing Junhai. 

An Tiecheng indicated that efforts would be made as required to bring into full play scientific research advantages, vigorously promote the advancement of automobile industry and local transformation of sci-tech achievements, accelerate green and low-carbon automotive development, and thus contribute to the revitalization and development of Jilin Province in the new era.
