To improve the new pattern of opening up and meet the diversified demands of consumption, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce applied for and was approved as a pilot for parallel import of complete vehicles. At the beginning of this year, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce coordinated the customs clearance for FAW Group’s import of 1,000 Audi cars, which in turn ensured the basic condition for applying to be a pilot for parallel import of vehicles. In the meantime, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce formulated a work plan, which was approved by the provincial government for submission to the Ministry of Commerce in mid-October. The evaluation on the application was completed in early December.

According to the information learned from the authorities of Insiders say that Changchun has been officially approved as a pilot for parallel import of vehicles. The import port is located inside the operation area of Xinglong Railway Container Station (Railway Port), which was approved by the State Council on October 9, 2018, accepted on May 6, 2019, and officially put into operation on October 17, 2019. A special yard for imported automobiles has been built over an area of 14,600 square meters covering 240 parking lots. Inside the supervision area there are bayonets and channels for imports and exports, container loading and unloading area, storage yard, inspection area and supervision warehouse.
