Wang Junzheng Meets American Guests for Pragmatic Cooperation, Promising Future
Changchun, March 14 (Changchun Daily)—Wang Junzheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, and Liu Changlong, Mayor of Changchun City, met with the delegation led by U.S. Charge d’Affaires David Rank on March 13, 2017.
The delegation came mainly to attend the presentation of “Choose the U.S.”, an investment attraction campaign promoted by the U.S government, organized in Changchun, the first stop designed in six Chinese cities this year. During the meeting, Wang Junzheng, on behalf of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and the People’s Government of Changchun City, extended his welcome to the delegation, and briefly introduced Changchun City, adding, “Over the past years, Changchun has maintained good cooperative relations with the U.S., with cooperation and exchanges carried out in such fields as education, trade and culture. So far, the number of companies invested by the U.S. in Changchun City has reached some 500.”
“An open economy is of greatest vitality and an open region is of greatest competitiveness. In line with the national strategy for the revitalization of Northeast China, Changchun is now trying to make its weakness strong so as to get involved in regional development. We hope your campaign will bring about chances of helping further deepen our exchanges in culture, of specialists and in innovation especially promoting our deep win-win cooperation in economic and trade for a new pattern of mutual benefits. In the meantime, we also hope your delegation can help publicize and make Changchun reach out farther to the world and the people around the world know more about Changchun,” said Wang Junzheng.
“To strengthen cooperation and exchanges with your city is one of our important goals and tasks during this trip. We made our first stop in your city in the hope of getting a brand new start for our campaign and also our partnership,” said the U.S. Charge d’Affaires David Rank.
Among the officials attending the meeting also included Zhao Ming, Li Zhongbin and Jia Lina.
