Changchun Fitness Instruction Center to be Started This Year, Predicted to be Put into Use in 2019

CHANGCHUN, February 15 (Changchun Daily)—Changchun Fitness Instruction Center is said to be constructed in Changchun Hi-tech Industry Development Zone this year and predicted to go operational in 2019. Insiders say upon completion such complex will change the currentsituation that there is no big sport facility in Changchun Hi-tech Industry Development Zone.

According to the information released by Changchun Sports Bureau, the center has been listed as a key project for the Planning 2016 to 2020 on Sports Facilities in Changchun City. Insiders say examination and approval preparations are going smoothly. The proposal has been agreed by Changchun Municipal Commission of Development and Reform. The panelists have completed energy saving and feasibility-based deliberations. The letters of choosing locationand environmental protection approval have been issued by Changchun Municipal Bureau of Planning and Changchun Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection. The feasibility report will soon be submitted to Changchun Municipal Commission of Development and Reform. After being approved, the construction notice will be issued, followed by other procedures including design, supervision and bidding. The center is planned to be started this year and partially completed by the end of this year. It is predicted to be put into use in 2019.

Most sports facilities are located in city center. In recent years, with the rapid development of the city, there is increasing demand for body building in suburban area which is somehow left behind in city construction and development.

The project is located at the intersection of Chaofan Street and Yiju Road, about ten minutes of walk from Bayi Reservoir around which there are 10 plus residential quarters. Some RMB350 million will be invested on an area of more than 40,000 square meters covering three pavilions for badminton (basketball), volleyball and indoor swimming and eight outdoor sections for football and rock climbing plus green space and fitness trails. It is expected to become a brand new landmark building for sport in Changchun City.
