Chaoyang District
Chaoyang District lies in the mid south of Changchun. It has 8 sub district offices and 3 townships. It covers 248 square kilometers, and its population is 725,000. The forest coverage of the district is 41.26%.
Provincial and municipal television stations, provincial and municipal libraries, provincial song and dance ensemble and Jilin opera troupe are all in this district. Changchun Film Studio, the cradle of the cause of films in New China, is situated at the bank of the attractive South Lake. 
Chaoyang District is the political center of the Manchuria puppet country in 1930s, therefore, there are a great many relics and historical remains left from that period.
